In 2012 we were able to isolate a mycobacterium, Mycolicibacterium manresensis, from the Cardener river in Manresa. A river generated from the melting of snow from Port del Comte, Serra del Verd and Serra d’Ensija. From then on, we began to characterise it in order to demonstrate its safety and to be able to produce it industrially.
In 2019, it received a safety opinion from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
